Chicago! Parte Dos

Yesterday I went to Chicago with my wonderful mother. We picked up my visa (and ran into Lauren Harrell (fellow Spain traveler)). It took all of 3 seconds. The visa is this cool, shiny thing that they added to the inside of my passport... I wasn't really sure what it would look like. Immediatly after picking it up, we went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. We were starving! It was great, my first time there. Our luch included a lot of insightful conversation and people watching (especially the adorable little girls that were coming out of the Watertower's American Girl Doll shop. They'd all pose on the steps... We witnessed the priceless family moments... of other families. :D)
Then, of couse, we shopped. My mom is too good to me...
Several chocolates and a car ride later, we made it to our home just in time to greet Aunt Laura and Uncle JD. It's always fun seeing them.
Today, I went to visit my SMC friends for the first time in a month... I missed them like crazy, it was too fun. I visited Catie, Anne, and Steph. And, claro, Alexis in her new version of our old room. Her new roommates are SO nice. I like them a lot! I miss SMC... But, I still cannot wait for the adventures I have waiting for me in SPAIN! It's really starting to hit me... I'm leaving soon!! AY DIOS

Tres Semanas!

I've been getting a lot done lately...
Such as, watching t.v., reading Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal (I'm on the 4th chapter), catching E! News everyday, sleeping, working out, avoiding going near any clothing retailer (I need my money!), playing with my pups, watching the tryouts for American Idol, drinking Awake tea... As I said, productive.
Today I had a lovely afternoon with my dad, a part of which included a stop at Bernardo's. While there, we discovered Bernardo is from Panama. So, when he learned I'm going to Spain he was sure to speak to me in Spanish. I thought I really knew my stuff... But, man, that accent will get you. They have a Castilian lisp in Sevilla, so there are no Ss or Ds. I'm not a fan. I felt like an idiot, but he was nice about it and was sure to wish me luck a couple extra times before I left...

After reading Natalie and Kims and Laura's blogs, I'm going to have to make a list of where I want to travel! I'm on that now...

31 Days To Go...

I am so bored...
I was unsure how I'd take to the whole not-having-anything-to-do thing, but I now know I hate it. There is nothing to do. I'm just sitting around the house, while never getting out of my pajamas, and watching Seinfeld episodes. I'm hanging with friends from home though. So, that's fun. I'm bonding with the chillins.
The Spanish is falling out of my head more and more with each day. We'll see if I even remember how to conjugate in the present tense by the time I get there... Can't wait till my SMC friends get back on campus and I can see them.
